Workshops:
We
have a new workshop format this year. Some performers will
present their
topic in a three day progressive class. You will have the opportunity
to learn from a world-class harper for all three days during that
class period, and you will come away with a great
handle on the techniques, theory, or tunes presented! You
can also choose from the selection of single day workshops.

Events:

There
will be two concerts a day,
lot’s of opportunities to jam with other harpers and
to share
your music at the open mike
and Saturday night Ceili.
Try out a variety of harps and browse
through music in the exhibit hall.
Exhibitors can check the
website for applications and details about reserving booth space. All
the info you need will be up by the end of February.

Harpcon Volunteers:

This will be the first ever Board-run HarpCon, so we will
be welcoming volunteers – particularly onsite. Watch the website for more
information on what we’ll need done, and how you might sign up
to be involved in this way.

We’re very excited about the new conference format, as well
as the location. The Millennium
Hotel is directly across
from the famous Gateway Arch, with the Busch Stadium across the street
in the other direction. All the rooms have a fabulous view! We’ll
be using the bottom floor of the hotel for all our harping activities
with no stairs or long walks to anything – workshops, concerts,
exhibit hall, jam sessions. Just an elevator ride down from your room
will deliver you to the heart of the conference activities!
Consider bringing the whole family – the free metro system
will take them to the park with a zoo and museums, and the walkable
downtown area is hopping with activity!
We are working on the budget so we can’t yet announce the costs,
but we are looking at ways to keep the cost way down for attending
the conference. So, please join us at HarpCon 2010!
